Michael Byrne Manufacturing builds swivel cutting heads to follow a pilot tube installed during a guided bore. This allows a contractor to use conventional auger boring machine while staying on line and grade.
The swivel heads contain a bearing sealed in an oil bath that allows the cutting head to rotate while the needle and pilot tube do not turn. These heads can be pulled back through the casing, with the ability to easily re-align to the pilot tube and begin boring again.
Multiple cutting head sizes can be used with the same swivel assembly. Types of cutting heads include:
- All purpose
- Rock
- Hard rock
- Custom design
